First period (research focus: Food quality)

The table shows the nutrient amounts (kg ha^-1) applied yearly with the mineral treatment (MIN) and the manure amounts (dt ha^-1) applied with the organic treatments (CM, CMBD) in the years 1981 - 84. All amounts represent the medium level only. The amounts at the low, medium and high levels correspond to 50%, 100% and 150% , resp. (in CM and CMBD based on manure and in MIN based on nitrogen).

The main objective of fertilization in this period was to realize equivalent yields with organic (CM) and mineral (MIN) fertilization at each input level.
